“What’s Love Got to Do with It?”

“What’s Love Got to Do with It?”

It seems as though Black women are the least desired when it comes to males of all ethnicity’s.  Ifemelu observes that White men, Hispanic men and even Black men at times are not interested in Black women according to their dating profiles.  This is very ironic because Black women are the first to be sexualized for their assets.  I guess Black women are good enough to be displayed as objects, or even have their features stolen/imitated, but not good enough to be attracted to or make good partners because of stereotypes and stigma.  Ifem makes a good point, at the end of the day it should be about a person’s personality, not what they look like.  That is why dating sites are so problematic.  There is nothing wrong with having a racial preference but answer this, why date the cultural appropriating copy, when you could have the beautifully crafted original?  Does the brown skin intimidate you too much?  Do strong opinionated Black woman make your blood boil?  Stop being so close minded to what’s on the outside and start realizing that what’s on the inside is what matters, that is the whole point of Ifems post.
